The Hemp Coalition/Washington NORML is part of an expanding global movement for drug reform. Inspired by our designation as the Washington State chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), and energized by the progress and growth of the Cannabis community, we are working to bring sensible drug strategies to our region.

Using saturation media, outreach and education, aggressive diplomacy and personal responsibility we intend to finish the job of policy reform while staying true to our cultural heritage. Working with various other local and national groups we have hosted vigils for drug war prisoners, high profile marches, community forums, produced alternative media, and worked on state-wide education projects.

But we have just begun our mission. The greater War On Drugs not only is solely responsible for America's pot laws. It is a racist national disgrace made of policies rooted in lies, betrayal and treason. Prison economics and criminal justice monopolies seek to fill jails and prisons to the brim with non-violent consensual offender of victimless "crimes".

So, as we feel a kinship with every other cannabis event and group worldwide, and are proud to join NORML chapters everywhere, we are also committed to fighting this war at it's core and that means ending America's failed "War On Drugs". Fighting ignorance, addiction, poverty and abuse are high priorities for The Hemp Coalition, and our policy of positive community relations and aggressive diplomacy will help us reach these goals.

This struggle is not just about pot, drugs, prison and economics. It's about civil rights, human rights, environmental survival and a race to define the heart and soul of the human race as we careen into a new time and age of unprecedented opportunity.

All of our hundreds of dedicated and committed volunteers have shown us what's possible if the goal is clear and the intent is true. We are gonna win this war together, and we actively seek donations, volunteers, support and participation. What role will you play? How can you join this force for justice and reason?

We have a goal to develop an outreach strategy with the hopeful outcome of educating and empowering people of color ( 1 in 3 African American men in their 20's will serve time in prison ), America's youth, as well as our increasing senior populations. The tentacles of the War On Drugs extend further and further into the heart of our society and no one can be left behind as no one is immune to the viscous sting of the catastrophic policies.

You can make such a difference and support the entire movement by joining The Hemp Coalition, attending our events, donating to Seattle Hempfest and by volunteering a small portion of your time. It is easier than you'd think and more fun than you can imagine.
